It's Official

Finally! It only took about 4 months. Everything is signed on the dotted line so it's official. The Wheatley's are heading west. Luckily it worked out so that the kids can finish the school year here in Oklahoma. We will leave here to start the road trip right around Memorial Day weekend. We plan to make the trip out there a fun road trip and hopefully we'll get to see as much as possible between here and there. We definitely have the Grand Canyon on the list of "must see" places. Anyone have any other recommendations?

We are going to fly out with the older two Mini-Wheats in about 2 weeks to go house hunting. Shout out to my dear friend "Big Baller" who will be coming to stay at our houses with the pint sized Mini-Wheat while we are gone. THANK YOU!! You have no idea how much I love you for that. It's too late to back out now, you know that right??

We will have packers and moves which is awesome! Yet, somehow I still have a to do list a mile long. Better go get started on it.

Hopefully I can find time to post again BEFORE the moving truck comes. If not there will definitely be some posts during our cross country escapades.

MLS Fail

One of my pet peeves is terrible MLS listings. Here is a brand new listing that was just posted last night. Whoever wrote this should be fired.

This primer home is on a very quit cult-ta-sac and shows a great pride of ownership. A pond entering the foyer you can step down to the right into the living room or head left to enter the family room with its cozy fireplace. Through the slider off the family room go on to a large and private deck surrounded with gardens and trees. There is great covered patio also in the backyard providing many area for entertaining. NO SHOW TILL 29TH FEB.

YUCK! And how can the home owner be okay with that write up?

Changes are coming

A few weeks ago the mister came home and asked me how I felt about moving to Reno Nevada for a new position with in his current company.  I didn't have to think about it for very long. If it's good for my husbands career then I will support it. A week later he flew out there to check out the office and meet the people he'd be working with. Nothing is official until everything is signed off on but it is looking like we probably will take the transfer. Now we are just waiting on the official offer to come through. It's amazing how slowly 2 weeks can pass when you are waiting for something to happen. I am feeling extremely unsettled right now and hope that everything is official soon. I am a planner so I need this to be a definite yes or no ASAP.

Since I am mostly an East Coast girl, I know absolutely nothing about Reno other than it's close to the Nevada border with California. I have never been west of Oklahoma City other than one vacation to San Diego when I was 12. My Googlefu has told me that Reno is roughly 8 hours North West of Vegas, less than 4 hours from San Francisco, and less than an hour from Lake Tahoe. After looking at the pictures Dean took while he was there I have dubbed it "The Sandbox". Everything is brown (good thing I like brown). The mountains all look like sand dunes right now. Google also tells me that it's very windy there. But I have a feeling it can't be worse than the wind here in Oklahoma. And, there are no tornadoes in Reno. That is a definite plus.

The mini-wheats were not originally on board with this whole moving thing. But after looking at the pictures their dad took and reading some of the magazines he brought back, they quickly got on board the move train. Both boys are now obsessed with learning how to ski which I admit, I am also really looking forward to being close to the slopes too. Although, based on the speed things are moving so far, it won't even be ski season anymore when we actually get there.

Moving and starting over is always a little scary. I am going to miss my Tulsa friends like crazy (but i will save the sappy good bye post for when we actually move). Here's hoping my next post will say that we have the packers/movers scheduled and everything is a GO! Until then, it's business as usual.

Music Monday

Last night while watching BBC America, I discovered Rebecca Ferguson. Rebecca was the winner on the X-Factor UK in 2010.   I don't know what it is about her voice but as soon as she started singing I found myself glued to the TV until the song was over. As soon as it finished, I hopped on my computer and listened to every song I could find by her. Take a listen and tell me what you think. This is the performance I saw last night. It is called "Nothing's Real But Love".

Music Monday

This song is brightening up my rainy cold Monday today. It makes me smile.

What are you listening to today??
